Anita Bala, pediatric sleep consultant
A SAFE HAVEN WITH ZERO JUDGMENT

Hey! I’m Anita Bala.

Before I was a sleep consultant, I was just an exhausted mom running on pure survival mode. When my daughter was a newborn, I completely hit a wall. I was totally drained by the constant wake-ups, and I felt so defeated by all the conflicting advice online. Nothing seemed to work for us.

Determined to fix it, I obsessed over learning everything I could about how baby sleep actually works and sought expert guidance. The difference was night and day. She started sleeping beautifully, and I finally got my sanity back.

Experiencing that relief firsthand made me realize I wanted to do this for other moms. We need to stop treating extreme sleep deprivation like a normal badge of honor in motherhood. You don’t have to suffer through the exhaustion to be a great mom.

You don’t have to spend months guessing in the dark. Let’s get your family sleeping again.

MY APPROACH

Every child is unique, so every plan is too.

I don’t use rigid rules or copy-paste methods. I look at your family’s real daily rhythm, your child’s personality, and what feels right to you, to build a gentle, evidence-based plan that actually works.

Let’s clear one thing up: getting a good night’s sleep isn’t a luxury or a selfish wish. It’s a basic necessity for your family to thrive. I’m here to give you the exact support and tools you need to make it happen, without the guesswork.

Sleep learning: facts and myths

The facts

  • You can be responsive and still sleep train. Staying emotionally connected and comforting your baby actually builds a secure attachment.
  • Sleep is fuel for development. Deep, uninterrupted sleep is crucial for your baby’s physical growth and brain development.
  • It works for toddlers, too. Sleep coaching isn’t just for infants; it can help older kids build healthy, lifelong sleep boundaries.
  • Every plan must match the child. Effective sleep coaching has to be tailored to your specific child’s temperament and your family’s needs.
  • There is life beyond “Cry It Out.” There are many gentle, gradual methods that do not involve leaving your baby alone to cry.

The myths

  • It damages your bond with your baby. Gentle sleep learning does not harm your attachment or cause toxic stress.
  • Crying equals harm. A baby protesting a change in their routine is normal expression, not emotional trauma.
  • It’s only for babies in separate rooms. You can absolutely room-share and still have a brilliant sleeper.
  • You can’t breastfeed and have a routine. Sleep coaching and breastfeeding can co-exist beautifully without sabotaging your supply or bond.
  • One method works for everyone. What worked for your neighbor’s baby might not work for yours, and that is completely normal.
